Moments of Joy ~ a Social Experiment

Unless you’ve been out of touch from the happenings of our current world, you are aware of the sad, tragic and down right darkness that is all around us.  I feel that something needs to be done to turn that all around.   I feel that if we take all of the energy that is being placed on the sad things that are happening and refocus it into the present moment, we will be able to see, hear, feel more joyful moments.  When more of us start noticing more of the joyful moments that are still happening all around us every day, then we will begin to transform the energies of our world.  And that shift in energies will be exactly what we all need to pull us out of this darkness.

It is my intention to use this blog page to write about at least one positive experience, act of gentle kindness, happy moment or anything that brings me joy or anything I observe that brings joy to another living being every day for at least one year.  I encourage anyone who stumbles upon this to use these pages to share your own tender moments or joyful experiences.  It is my intention to bring awareness of the joy in our world, our countries, our communities, our homes to as many people on this planet as possible.  Thus, bridging the gap between “us” and “them” between you and me.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

I would not interfere with any creed of yours or want to appear that I have all cures. There is so much to know… many things are true… the way my feet must go may not be the best for you. And so I give this spark of what Light is to me, to guide you through the dark, but not tell you what to see.

Wonderful Gratitude ~ 06-10-10

Traveling alone with my 2 young boys for a short over night trip is interesting.  They try my patience and charge me with energy.  They frustrate me and then make me laugh.  They find wonder and amazement in the smallest of details.  To allow myself to see the world through their untainted eyes is an incredible gift!

Flowing in Gratitude ~ 06-09-10

Busy, busy, busy!  My boys have soo much energy that I’m exhausted (in the best way) at the end of every day that I’m having a tough time keeping up with my blog every day.  But, rest assured, I am soaking up every moment of joy, every bit of happiness, every bit of delight, every act of kindness and basking in the laughter of each of those cherished moments.  My gratitude runneth over!

Happy Youth ~ 06-03-10

The last day of school!  Family picnic with water fun at school and then on to a beach party with school friends that took us clear to bed time!  Whew!  Yes, the summer fun has begun!  At the end of the day, I had 2 very tired, but very happy little boys and that, in my opinion, is what it’s all about.  I am grateful for this amazing life I live!

Grateful Moments ~ 06-02-10

I had the afternoon free and only 2 days left before summer vacation so I decided to go to a movie.  I’ve heard people say that they’d never go to a movie alone, but I loved and savored every moment of it.  Maybe it’s because I don’t have many opportunities to see ‘grown-up’ movies, maybe it’s because I don’t have a lot of free time or maybe it’s because I live in the moment and there were so many perfect moments in this one afternoon.

Nature Bliss ~ 06-01-10

A day to walk in the woods, work in the garden, breathing in fresh air and soaking up sunshine.  Another bliss-filled day!

Bliss and Joy ~ 05-31-10

Wandering in a state park searching for a geocache slowly making our way to the beach.  Experiencing anticipation, wonder and excitement all along the way.  Bliss and pure joy!

Young Accomplishments ~ 05-28-10

My youngest graduated from kindergarten today.  The class (of 15 students) were all beaming with pride for their accomplishments.  They had skits and songs to perform for their family and friends.  Most couldn’t be heard and/or understood, but the audience with thrilled at the preciousness of the children, it brought many smiles to many faces and that is all that really matters!

Comforting Youth ~ 05-24-10

I witnessed six year old girl crying because she had lost  the bug she had found.  The teachers attempted to distract her, but they didn’t have much time to devote to her dilemma.  She sat on the floor crying and another six year girl sat down to comfort her and succeeded.  With dry eyes, she rejoined the group activity.

Simple Perfection ~ 05-23-10

A trip to a small river town with an art fair, beautiful gardens to roam, ice cream cones and sitting by the river.  A perfect family outing on a perfect Sunday afternoon.

Simple Solitude ~ 05-22-10

My husband and children wanted to attend a party that I was less than excited about going to simply because I wouldn’t know anyone.  And, my husband said that he was fine taking the boys without me and gave me the rare opportunity to spend some time alone.  I chose to simply browse through stores and tried on clothes at a leisurely pace.  I only made a few small purchases, but felt really grounded when I returned home.  I am grateful for simple moments such as these.
